I’ve been a little quiet around here lately. I had the chance to step away and enjoy some much-needed time with my family on vacation. It was exactly what we needed. Sicily… you will always have my heart. 🇮🇹❤️ Growing up, I spent my summers here, and these streets, sunsets, and memories became part of my story. My parents grew up in Sicily, and before my dad made the brave decision to come to America with his brothers to chase the American dream, they built a life here. They gave us the gift of two worlds…our Italian roots and the life they created for us in America. This trip was extra special. For two weeks, I got to return with my parents, my sister’s family, my brother’s family, and our best cousins all together. Watching my parents see their grandchildren experience the places that meant so much to them was priceless. Reuniting with cousins I hadn’t seen in years reminded me that family always stays close. We explored Palermo, stayed in Carini, and visited Terrasini, Scopello, San Vito Lo Capo, Isola delle Femmine, and Zingaro. We took a boat to Favignana, swam in crystal-clear waters, climbed Monte Pellegrino to visit Santa Rosalia, and enjoyed all the Sicilian favorites—arancini, panelle, panini, gelato, seafood, pizza, and that beautiful sun. One of the most emotional moments was bringing my kids to the block where I spent my summers and watching them make memories there too. This wasn’t just a vacation. It was coming home.
