How to Choose a Newborn Photographer in Bergen County NJ

Expecting a baby comes with so many beautiful milestones, and capturing those first days with professional newborn photography is something many families cherish forever. If you're searching for a newborn photographer in Bergen County NJ, there are a few important things to consider when choosing the right photographer for your family. From safety and experience to style and timing, finding someone you trust to photograph your newborn is incredibly important.

Safety Should Always Come First

Newborn photography requires experience, patience, and a deep understanding of how to safely pose and handle babies.

With a medical background in pediatrics, safety has always been the foundation of every session I photograph. My sessions are completely baby-led, meaning nothing is ever forced and your baby's comfort always comes first.

Sessions move slowly and calmly, allowing time for feeding, soothing, and breaks whenever needed so both baby and parents feel relaxed throughout the entire experience.

Choosing a Style That Feels Timeless

Every newborn photographer has their own style. Some photographers focus on elaborate setups and props, while others prefer a more natural and timeless approach.

At Tiny Hearts Photography, sessions are designed to feel calm, simple, and organic. Soft neutral tones, natural textures, and gentle posing allow the focus to remain on your baby rather than heavy styling.

The goal is to create photographs that will feel just as beautiful years from now as they do today.

When Should You Schedule Your Newborn Photos

The best time for newborn photography is typically between 12–21 days after birth. During this stage babies are still very sleepy and naturally curl into those cozy newborn poses.

Because newborn sessions are scheduled around due dates, most families book their session during the second trimester to ensure availability.

Once your baby arrives, we simply confirm the exact date for your session.
