We can all agree the bigger the bow the better it is 🥰 When my daughter was little, I would buy her these cute little headbands and bows and she would literally keep them on for maybe 10 minutes and she would rip them off and I would be so upset because they were so cute on her and she just wanted nothing to do with it. So my advice is the sooner you put it on the more likely they will keep it on. 😂🫠 I’m already booking into 2026, and I couldn’t be more excited! My intentions were never to become a photographer. I always thought I’d be a nurse. Growing up with kidney disease and being in and out of hospitals made me want to help people especially kids. Just like they had helped me. I became a medical assistant working with children all while going to school for nursing… and then life happened. I became a newlywed. Then I became unemployed. So we took that year to travel and reset a little. Not long after, my daughter Brianna came into our lives…and everything changed again. That’s when I picked up a camera for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t know how to use a camera, didn’t know anything about running a business. But I went with it. I signed up for a business class, took a few workshops with well-known photographers, and just started showing up. I started putting my name out there, little by little. Did I ever think I’d become one of the top newborn + family photographers in Bergen County? Not even close. Did I think my photos would ever be featured in People? Definitely not and now I’m less than 1,000 followers away from 10k?! That’s wild to me! I used to hate being in the spotlight. Compliments made me uncomfortable. I never wanted to be the center of attention. But now? I don’t mind it. Because I worked my ass off to get here and I deserve this. This is my passion. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my clients in front of my camera, smiling, holding their babies, being in the moment. I get to freeze that for them, to give them something they’ll have forever. That’s the real gift. So if you’re out there thinking about chasing a dream..do it. If something unexpected falls into your lap, maybe it’s there for a reason. Run with it. Make it your own. My daughter’s 12th birthday is tomorrow and I can’t help but feel all these emotions inside. I spent almost 2 hours watching videos of her yesterday. Let’s Bust a Common Myth! There’s a long-standing belief that newborn sessions must be done within the first 5-7 days. To me, that’s crazy! Both baby and parents need time to adjust—especially for first-time parents. There is no rush when it comes to capturing those precious first moments. I actually prefer to photograph newborns around 2-3 weeks old, and here’s why: ✔️ Baby has had time to adjust to feeding and develop a more predictable schedule. ✔️ Breastfeeding moms have a better understanding of their journey, and milk supply has had time to regulate. ✔️ Let’s not forget the hormonal rollercoaster—those first few days can be overwhelming! So, I’m here to break the myth—your baby does not have to be just five days old for a newborn session. In fact, waiting a little longer often leads to a calmer, smoother session for everyone. If you’ve been stressing about timing, don’t! Let’s focus on what really matters—capturing your little one when you’re all feeling a bit more settled.
