Not only did I have the pleasure of photographing his sisters, but now him too and that means so much to me. I’ve known his mom since we were kids, and to be trusted by someone I grew up with to capture these memories… that’s the biggest honor. People think photography is all about the paycheck, but honestly, what fills me up is photographing the babies of the people I love and people I had the pleasure of meeting . 11 years. That’s how long it’s taken me to feel truly confident in my work. This job isn’t easy. It takes time, growth, and a whole lot of patience. There were so many moments I thought about quitting thinking maybe I wasn’t cut out for this. But then I’d look at my children and ask myself: What would giving up teach them? So I kept going. This little man smiled throughout his whole session. He was literally a dream to work with. I’m always getting asked from my fellow colleagues how I I keep my sessions under two hours with newborns. 99% of the time yes that is true but there’s that 1% that I struggle with. lol my answer always is because of my prep guide. It is the most thorough guide that you could get from me. A majority of the time if you follow it then we will have a smooth session..
