One of the best part of being a NJ family photographer is getting to watch them grow over time. I first met Ryann and her beautiful family during a session in Hoboken, NJ. Since then Ryann and her family have moved into a beautiful home in Summit, NJ. Their home is truly a photographer’s dream. The moment I entered their home, I was in awe of how much natural light pouring through the windows, creating this dreamy soft look which made it perfect for the session.

How My Newborn Photography Near Me & New Jersey Baby Girl Photoshoot Went

I was so thrilled this family in New Jersey found me. It was a breeze working with them as well as photographing their beautiful baby girl. Mom found me by searching “ Newborn Photography Near Me” which led her to my website where she had access to check out my portfolio. Although she was already a week old, mom contacted me last minute and since some of my pre-booked newborns have not been born yet, mom was in luck that I had a spot available for her the following week.

Once we finalized their newborn session date, they arrived at my New Jersey studio relaxed, adjusted, and ready for a comfortable newborn photoshoot. I like to have the newborn still sleeping in their car seat when they arrive at the studio so that helps me get the parents settled in as they sleep. After that, I take the newborn out of the car seat and start getting them ready for their newborn photo shoot.

Here are some of my favorites from this New Jersey newborn photography session.

New Jersey Newborn Photography

First things first, I always start the newborn photoshoot by just photographing the baby first. The reason I do this is that at the time of arrival, the baby is already sleeping. Before the session, I like to send my clients a prep guide that will help them prep for the newborn session. The first thing I ask is to keep the baby in a zip-up pajama with no onesie underneath. This way I don’t startle the baby too much for her to wake up.

I start with what’s called a bum-up pose. This is the most common pose during a newborn photoshoot.

During these traditional newborn poses, I like to add cute headbands that match the set as well as a stuffed animal prop like this little bear you see here.

After the traditional newborn poses. I like to wrap the newborn baby in a unique wrap to match the beautiful set I picked out during this newborn photoshoot.

For this newborn portrait look, we added a textured background look. Here, I used a flokati rug that is made specifically for newborn photography.

Wooden baby crate.

While the newborn baby girl is still wrapped up, I like to add a few props during the newborn photoshoot.

This beautiful crate was shipped from a small business for photographers in Australia. I like to incorporate this in almost every newborn session

Trench bowl.

Next, to change things up, I transitioned the baby into a different colored wrap that blended well with this trench bowl prop. It matched perfectly.

New Jersey Newborn Family Photography

First off, this little newborn baby girl was a dream to work with. She was perfect to work with and slept the entire newborn session. I love family portraits. I always encourage mom and dad to get in the newborn photoshoot. It is important to be photographed with your newborn baby. These times are so delicate and precious, I wouldn’t want them to regret not being photographed with their newborn baby.

Mom chose a darker color palette for this newborn photoshoot and it worked out so well with the wooden backdrop. It really made the family portrait stand out.

I also incorporate a black and white silhouette image. I feel as if it speaks more volumes and really captures the moment.

New Jersey Newborn Photography with Dad

After the family portraits, I like to take individual parent shots. I really love how the light captures the dad and the baby as dad gazes his love for her. You can tell how proud dad is in this newborn photo.

When it was mom’s turn with the baby girl, I was in absolute awe of mom’s beauty and how nourishing she was to her newborn baby girl. She continued to glow throughout this newborn photoshoot which made her images stunning that she will cherish forever.

This baby girl was so sleepy and chill during this session, which made this newborn photoshoot so much fun.

The Newborn Photography Collection

Two weeks after the newborn photoshoot, I like to send my clients their proof gallery where they will be able to see images captured at the newborn photoshoot. They opted for our Heirloom Collection, which includes 35 images from the newborn photoshoot as well as a 10×10 album. We have a different variety of albums you can choose from. Mom loved the look of an acrylic cover showing off her beautiful newborn baby girl.

What to expect during COVID-19.

Being a Baby Photographer in Bergen County NJ where it was the epicenter of COVID-19, I had many clients that weren’t sure if they were ready for a newborn session. Only you can decide what works for your family, but I can assure you that preparing for a newborn session with me is simple and safe. I’ve had three children myself, so I know first-hand what you’re experiencing. My goal as a baby photographer is to capture your new life as it’s unfolding, every part of it. And I promise – whether you prepare or not – the images will be lovely and become lifelong treasures.

Newborn sessions always take place in my studio located in Franklin Lakes, NJ . A baby session will usually last about 1-1.5 hours. Really depending on the baby.

Here is what to expect at a baby photography session during COVID-19.

What are some of the safety precautions you are taking?

We have been following the CDC guidelines and I only book one family at a time as well as sanitizing the studio before and after each use. I will be wearing gloves and mask during the while process.

Keep the temperature in the studio warm

This is important for the baby to stay nice and warm for a smooth session.

Think ahead about personal items you might like to include ,

Such as a knitted blanket, hat, or a special doll. I love to incorporate items from the family or the home as they make the images much more personal.

Relax and be yourselves.

When should I schedule my newborn session?

Newborn Scheduling can be overwhelming at times. Most parents contacted me after their newborn is born to inquire about a session to see if we have any last-minute availability. Fortunately, we do but not always! I encourage parents to book around their second trimester to ensure that we have availability. Sometimes we may not be in luck to fit you in, so keep that in mind when booking your next appointment with us. Once we booked our session, I sent out a prep guide to prep the parents for their upcoming session. It covers the basics of how to prepare for your session, what to bring, and what to wear. You have enough going on at home with a brand new baby, so we make it super easy for you to prep for your session.

Most of our clients reserve their sessions while they’re still pregnant to ensure that they have a spot on our calendar. It’s never too early to book with us and sometimes we are the first to know about pregnancy before the clients’ extended family. But don’t worry, keeping secrets is one of our specialties.

How old should my newborn be for the session?

To ensure that our clients get the best experience from us, we only schedule a limited number of clients a month. Once you’re on the calendar, all you would have to do is let us know when your baby has arrived. In general, we photograph baby’s in between 12-21 days of life. We’ve photographed up to 6 weeks, but it’s not ideal for true baby photos unless your baby was born prematurely. Just contact us to see if we have availability to squeeze you in!

My clients are never left hanging during sessions with me. I will guide you through the entire experience. All of those little details are important, and I’m constantly looking for them.

How do we book our newborn session date in advance when we don’t know the exact date our baby will arrive?

Well, that’s simple, we schedule the exact date when you book and we work around that date. Booking a baby session with us before birth, simply means that you’re securing your guaranteed spot on our calendar.

How long does the session last?

Babies are unpredictable and it all depends on their needs. A newborn session can take up to 2 to 4 hours.

Is there anything that can be brought to the session?

Yes! of course. You are welcome to bring anything you like to incorporate in the session. However, I do have lots of props, outfits, bonnets, and wraps to choose from.

Family Fall sessions are my favorite to capture. As a Northern NJ family photographers , I love to meet new families during the Fall season. Amanda booked a family session with me this past September. It was nice to able to capture her growing family again. They truly let their personalities shine and that sometimes can be a bit tricky with kids. The foliage leaves were just starting to change in Leonia, New Jersey at Over peck county park . The beautiful scenery and golden light were just perfect. The family’s wardrobe was on point.

As we work together throughout the session it gives me time to work with each individual and again as a whole family. Though I do very little posing, I will guide you every step of the way. New Jersey Maternity Session

Maternity Session in New Jersey

This New Jersey Maternity Session was really fun to capture. Being a New Jersey Maternity photographer, I get to meet so many families around the surrounded areas of Bergen County, NJ. This session was very special to me. Craig happens to be my brother in law who I adore so much. Capturing his family has been a blessing. They are so excited to extend their family tree in welcoming a new baby girl to complete their family of five.

These photos were taken in Leonia, New Jersey at Overpeck County park It was a beautiful Wednesday afternoon just when the sun is about to set, which I like to call the golden hour. New Jersey Maternity Session’s are great to capture outdoors since this state has such beautiful scenery. All photos are taken outdoors during the month of April-November.

I think it’s so important to document your story. You and your family can one day go back and relive that moment. I also encourage my clients to get in front of the camera because one day your children will look back at these photos and remember all those beautiful moments you had together. I absolutely love where this job has taken me and the people I’ve met along the way. Being a New Jersey newborn Photographer, my job comes with so much cuteness, and this session was double the cuteness! This beautiful family welcomed a baby girl to the world. Spending time with new families and seeing the joy on their faces just brightens my day. I met this beautiful little girl at Englewood Hospital at her fresh 48 session, where you can check out here.

Precious baby girl was such a sweetheart, falling asleep in the comfort of her parent’s arms. There is something so special about a parent and baby sharing such a beautiful moment that draws my attention to them during a sessions. It really allows me to capture those moments, and tiny little features that will quickly grow within the next couple of days, months, and years to come. Being able to witness mom and dad from afar admiring their new baby girl is one of the greatest gifts to witness as a newborn photographer.

Zoey was 2 weeks old during her session and was such a dream baby. She had the most gorgeous, fair skin and beautiful set of hair! The best part about this session was that her big boy cousins were able to take a photo with her. It was so cute watching them handle her with care. Just goes to show you she will always be protected by her big cousins. I also absolutely loved the colors that was incorporating. All of the colors in Zoey’s newborn session were used to match her nursery room. It is so important to go over the questionnaire I send over prior to your newborn session, to help me incorporate as many things as I can to meet your needs for during your newborn’s session.

New Jersey Baby Photographer | Welcome Baby Zoey

For those of you that do not know, I am a New Jersey Baby Photographer serving Bergen County and surrounding areas. I specialize in maternity, newborn, and family photography. Being a Baby Photographer, I have been photographing baby’s for 4 years now and have capture over 100 brand new babies.

Lately I have been doing a lot of fresh 48 sessions at the hospital.

What is a fresh 48 session? Fresh 48 photography is a special session that is done at the hospital. These are taken the first few hours of birth. These sessions are taken within the first 24-48 hours of your baby’s life. Whats special about this session is that you really get to bond with your baby. And of course what perfect way to do it other then in front of a camera.

Meet Zoey, She was born 1 month ago at Englewood Hospital , were I got to meet her and her family. First time I laid eyes on her I instantly had baby fever! She was the tiniest little thing and I could not wait to start snapping pictures of her. She was so peaceful and really helped the session go smoothly. During her session, I made sure that parents were in the frame. It is really important to capture that “first” special bond with your baby. They grow up so fast that it becomes a blur. Pictures tells a thousand words that continues the memory to last a lifetime. Being a New Jersey Baby Photographer, has really made me enjoy what I do. NJ Newborn Photographer | Boy Newborn Session

Being A NJ Newborn Photographer, having a boy Newborn Session can be tricky. I met Logan’s parents when I first started my business a few years ago. I took their family portraits at a local park located here in Wyckoff, NJ at the James A. McFaul Environmental Center . I was so excited when his parents chose me to photograph him.

Perks of being a NJ Newborn Photographer.

As a NJ newborn photographer, I always get asked how I keep a newborn baby asleep while changing positions? There are definitely a few tricks. First off, I have an assistant which is a huge help when handling your newborn baby. Safety is and will always be my #1 priority. I also give parents prep guide instructions to keep their newborn baby awake for a couple of hours before heading into their session. When given a full feeding before coming to the studio, we are already in good spirits for a sleepy session. The addition of having the studio little warm, some white noise and some comfortable wraps, often help newborn baby settle and the session begins!

During Our Session.

I usually start with a few props where baby is wrapped, adjusting his little hands and placement in each set-up. Often, we finishing these poses in props Like, buckets or little cute beds. Once we are done, I move onto the beanbag set-ups . This is when I add on some beautiful, soft wraps and bonnets to have baby stand out more.

What you need to know before booking.

When scheduling a newborn baby sessions, know that these are only done at my studio located in Franklin Lakes, NJ where I have access to all my lighting equipment, beautiful bonnets, wraps and so much more. I only ask that you bring any sentimental items with you to be incorporated in our session.

Growing Family | New Jersey Maternity Photographer

Hi all, I am known as the New Jersey Maternity Photographer located here in Bergen County, New Jersey. I wanted to share this beautiful session with all of you which happens to be my favorite one. I’ve known This family for a good handful of years now, maybe 2 handfuls ha! This is one of my favorite New Jersey Maternity session to capture here In Northern New Jersey. This maternity session was taken place at the Ramapo Valley County Reservation , located in Mahwah, New Jersey. It was amazing to see how calm and at ease the whole family was which made the session go so smoothly. It was such a fun, easy and relaxing session and felt more like we were just hanging out then me capturing their growing family. This is baby number 3 for them and Noelle has handled this pregnancy with such grace and beauty and I can’t even describe how much this beautiful mama was glowing. I loved everything about this session. At our pre-consultation, we both discussed how they wanted their session to be like. It was a mix of moodiness and airy just how she liked it. It was a pleasure watching this family grow. I can not wait to meet their 3rd child. What will it be, a girl or boy, we shall see :).

Leilani Newborn Photography Session | Bergen County, NJ

It was a pleasure having sweet Leilani come to our Wyckoff, NJ studio for her newborn session. First time meeting her was at her fresh 48 Session taken at Hackensack University Medical Center , here in New Jersey, which she rocked by the way. Mom wanted her session to be special since Leilani is the only girl in the family. She has two gorgeous boys at home. Her session went smoothly, thanks to the prep guide I gave her. It is very important to consult about your session with me, so I can style it to your liking. We incorporated all of mommy’s favorites in her newborn session which made it extra special. Please remember when scheduling your newborn session, It is important to book around your second trimester to secure your session date. I likes to schedule baby around 15-20 days old. The reason for this is because I want everyone to be comfortable and relaxed. Having a baby can be stressful. So I like to give parents and their baby time to adjust to the new world, so when they come for their newborn session, they are comfortable and relaxed, just like Leilani here.
